Open carry of a handgun in Texas was passed January 2016 - However you have to have a  license.

THE LTC CLASS:

 THIS IS NOT A TRAINING CLASS. YOU MUST BE PROFICIENT & FAMILIAR WITH YOUR WEAPON! 

BASIC FIREARMS TRAINING

IF ONE IS NOT CONFIDENT OR COMFORTABLE WITH THEIR WEAPON, THEN THE BASIC FIREARMS TRAINING CLASS IS RECOMMENDED PRIOR TO THE LICENSE TO CARRY CLASS

CLASS ROOM

is for scheduled groups of people 

no less than 5 but no more than 10

State Mandated 4-6-Hour Course for Certifications.  Class starts promptly at 8:00 a.m. and should end around 3:00 

p.m. 

CERTIFICATIONS

ONLINE QUALIFICATION 

AT RANGE:

1 Hour with instructor

Student has to have LTC 101 form printed & bring to range

To RENEW your certification please visit the Texas DPS Website.   

• Eye and hearing protection

• Ball Cap, Visor, or Brimmed Hat 

• Wear closed-toe shoes

• A button up shirt or T-shirt is required. Please, NO tank tops (all for safety purposes)

• No Shorts

• Handgun, along with 100 rounds of ammo. (only 50 rounds will be used. The other box will be if one fails to qualify the first time)

You can now qualify with a 

.22 caliber handgun.

*Please make sure your weapon is in good working condition. (There will be NO sighting in at the range)*
